STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The final day of the 2023 District 4 Legion baseball tournament was held on Wednesday with the championship game, here are the results:

No. 1 Carrington 14  No. 4 New Rockford 0, 5 innings

Carrington came out strong right from the get-go and cruise to the 14-0 victory to win the District 4 championship for the third year in a row. Grady Shipman works all five innings, no runs, two hits, 10 strikeouts and one walk. Luke Yri takes the loss, working one inning. Brody Weisenburger worked three innings in relief. At the plate, Corbin Clifton was 2-for-3, with single, double, an RBI and scored twice, Josh Bickett hit a bases clearing double, he ended with four RBI and scored once. Yri and Skye Kramlich had one hit each for NR Post 30. Carrington is now 12-7 overall, NR is now 5-7 overall.

Carrington will host the 2023 State Class B Legion Baseball tourney starting Wednesday, July 26th and running through Sunday, July 30th. The last time Carrington hosted the State B tourney was in 2016. Carrington will play the last game of the day on that Wednesday against the champion of district 7. New Rockford will also make their way to the State tourney for the first time since 2003, they will play the second game next week Wednesday against the district 3 champ.

All games at the State B Legion tourney will be broadcast on Thunder Country 98.3 or Q101.1 and newsdakota.com.
