STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The opening day of the 2023 District 4 Legion Baseball tourney was held at Pirate Field in Steele on Monday with two games, here are the results:

No. 1 Carrington 13   No. 4 New Rockford 0

Carrington Post 25 put up seven runs right away in the bottom of the first inning and  cruised to the 13-0 victory in five innings, winning by 10-run rule. Hudson Schmitz picked up the victory, Luke Yri takes the loss. Carrington is now 10-7 overall, NR drops to 3-6 overall.

No. 2 Linton/Ashley/Wishek 2   No. 3 Kidder County 1

LAW Rattlers score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win it over Kidder County. Connor Kosiak hit a single to right field knocking in Berkley Frantz for the game winner. Marshall Lindgren picks up the victory on the mound, Blake Braun suffers the loss. LAW improves to 10-7 overall, KC drops to 3-8 overall.

TUESDAYS SCHEDULE:

1PM – New Rockford vs. Kidder County (elimination game)

330pm – Carrington vs. LAW (semifinal)

6pm – winner 1pm game vs. loser of 330pm game
