CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Grady Shipman hit a walk-off solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning over the center field wall for Carrington Post 25 to win the game 4-3 over Lamoure Post 19. Carrington is now 9-6 overall, Lamoure is now 20-6.

Lamoure led 2-0 at the end of the third inning, Carrington scored three runs to take the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Then Post 19 added a run in the top of the sixth to tie the contest at three all. Grady Shipman worked six innings, Hudson Schmitz worked an inning and picks up the victory. Landon Piehl takes the loss, working two innings, Corbin Potts started at worked four innings. Tate Mart had three singles for Lamoure and knocked in a run. Lucas Hendrickson had two hits and an RBI for Carrington.

In the second game of the day for Carrington, Landon Koenig hits two homeruns and knocks in five to help MayPort CG Patriots win 14-8 in eight innings. The Patriots put up six runs in the top of the eighth. For Post 25, Jack Erickson was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Next up for Carrington will be the District 4 Legion Baseball tournament in Steele on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 17-19. Thunder Country 98.3 and newsdakota.com will broadcast all the games.
