VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – City-County Health District would like to remind parents and caregivers to make sure their children are current on immunizations. Believe it or not, many pediatric and family practice clinics throughout the state are already booking wellness and physical activity appointments in the next few months.
Scheduling an appointment now ensures that your child is ready for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Parents and caregivers can contact City-County Health District or their primary care provider to see if their student is up to date on required and recommended immunizations.
Most children will need the following immunizations by the first day of school: Kindergarten (4-6 years of age)
Hepatitis B: three doses
Polio: four doses
DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis): five doses
MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella): two doses
Varicella (chickenpox): two doses Seventh grade (11-12 years of age)
Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis): one dose
Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV4 or MenACWY): one dose Eleventh grade (16+ years of age)
Meningococcal Conjugate (MCV4 or MenACWY): two doses
City-County Health District is hosting Vax To School for school aged children now through August 16, 2023. Call, schedule, or come in our public health office to be vaccinated to be eligible for a prize. There is a prize for the age groups of 4 through 8, 9 through 13, and 14 through 19. The drawing will be held on August 17 and the winners will be contacted by phone. We offer all school required and recommended immunizations.
