The Memorial Service for Floyd Preston, 96, Valley City, North Dakota, formerly Tower City, North Dakota will be 10:30 am, Thursday. July 6, 2023, at Connect Church, Valley City.  He passed away Monday, June 26, at his home.

Floyd Harlan Preston was born October 3, 1926, to Edgar and Harriett (Collins) Preston.  He graduated from Tower City High School. On May 23, 1958, Floyd was united in marriage to Kathleen Hassett.  Floyd and Kathleen spent much of their life on the homestead farm north of Tower City.  They moved to Valley City in 2016.

Floyd was a farmer, custodian at the Tower City School and owned a septic pumping business.  He was an all-around handman that was generous with his time and resources.  Throughout his life Floyd was an avid horseshoe player.

Floyd was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church and a member of The Gideons International.

Floyd is survived by his wife; his children and their families: Dan Preston; Linda Elliott and children Brad (Renee), Staci and Derek; Scott Preston (Jody) and children Stephen, Andrea (Lannis), Brandon and Jordon; Marvin Preston (Tambara) and children Ethen (Cassie) and Eliot (McKenzie); Barb Schmitt (Dean) and children Bryant (Jenny), Breanna and DeAnn (Tom).  He is also survived by his great grandchildren Alizabeth, Aurissa, Greyson, Olivia, Matthew, Nathan, Lucas, Micah, Hudsen, James, Franklin, Alita, Maverick, Griffin, and Harlow.

He was preceded in death by Dale Elliott (Son in Law), William Preston (Brother) and Miriam Greiger (Sister).
