Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes were unable to mount a third comeback against Lisbon Post 7 to lose by a score of 14-8.

The Tornadoes and Lisbon couldn’t get much going for the first few innings of play until Lisbon were able to score a run in the 3rd to take a 1-0 lead. The Tornadoes were able to put 4 runs across in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 4-1 lead. The scoring gates were opened at that point as Lisbon put 7 runs across in the top of the 5th inning retaking the lead by a score of 8-4. However Oakes would instantly fight back in the bottom half of the inning tying the game 8-8 with 2 on, 2 out before the rain caused a 10 minute delay. Lisbon would make some changes in the field which would allow them to get the out they needed. Lisbon would score  runs in the next inning to take a commanding 14-8 adding one more run in the 7th to make it 15-8.

The winning pitcher would be Jayden Bittner with 4.0 IP, 4 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 6 BB’s, and 2 K’s. The losing pitcher would be Brogan Roney with 5.1 IP, 16 H, 11 R, 11 ER, 1 BB, and 3 K’s.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Max Walock who went 2/4 on the night with 2 RBI’s and scoring twice.

The Tornadoes now travel to Wahpeton on Wednesday June 28th. The first pitch will be at 5:30 with pregame starting on KDDR at 5:15.
