Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–Jamestown Post 14 legion team racked up 17 runs and 17 hits and dropped Carrington 17-5 in a weather shortened game. The games was called after Post 14 finished batting in the top of the fifth inning. Jamestown took advantage of three Carrington errors in the top of the first inning scoring 8 unearned runs capped off with a Mason Lunzman (1-2, 3 RBI, run) 3 run homerun. Post 14 added 2 runs in the second inning on a Payton Hochhalter (2-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs) 2 run homerun. Post 14 added a run in the third inning, 3 runs in the fourth, and 3 runs in the fifth. Nate Walz went 3-3 after replacing starter Lunzman with 2 runs and an RBI. Carson Orr went 2-4 with a run and 2 RBI. Tyson Jorisson finished 3-4, scored 3 runs, and added 2 RBI. Jackson Walters 2-4, 2 runs.
Carrington scored 2 runs in each of the first 2 innings with Jack Erickson (1-2) and Hudson Schmitz both scoring 2 runs. Grady Shipman went 2-4 with a run scored. Owen Hagel went 1-1 with 2 RBI and walked twice. Jamestown evened up there record to 7-7 and Carrington dropped to 4-2 with both losses coming at the expense of Post 14. Jamestown defeated Carrington at Jack Brown Stadium 6-5 scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh. Jamestown will host Bismarck on Wednesday with a pair of 7 inning games starting at 5:00 and Carrington will host New Rockford-Sheyenne on July 5th starting at 5:30
