JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JPR) – Dakota Central has committed to donating $100,000 to Jamestown Parks and Recreation Foundation to renovate playing fields at McElroy Park in Jamestown.

McElroy Park, is the home to youth baseball, fastpitch softball, high school and college baseball and softball programs as well as amateur leagues. Located in the center of the state, McElroy Park is the ideal location for large-scale, high-quality tournaments for convenient access to teams throughout the state. The field renovations will consist of three phases. These phases will provide renovations to the youth complex and Jack Brown Stadium.

“We are thrilled to support the McElroy Park expansion and its contribution to the growth and development of Jamestown. By investing in this project, we are not only enhancing recreational opportunities, but also fostering a sense of community. I am excited to witness the positive impact it will have on Jamestown and the surrounding communities, and believe the future is bright for our area youth” Holly Utke, CEO, Dakota Central.

The first phase of construction is planned to begin in Fall of 2023. This initial phase is anticipated to include a tee ball field, one Babe Ruth field, two Cal Ripken fields, and a restroom and concession building.
