The third week of league shooting was last week which made for a bit of activity at the club house.  A few people were shooting 5-stand and skeet but mostly the trap houses were busy.  I thank everyone for keeping their scores current.

Last week I talked about being in a shooting slump.  As it turns out I’m canting the shotgun to around the 1:00 position instead of holding level at 12:00.  The cause and effect is from a shoulder injury on my left side.  The canting of a firearm is a hard thing to diagnose for the shooter or observer.  Something to keep in mind for those targets that fly away unscathed and you’re thinking “How could I possibly have missed that?”  Just when you think you have the game figured out and beaten, it’s flanking you.

High trap was Austin Junke, high skeet was Ethan Bear with 24 and Brook Bundy 19 on 5-stand. League standings are Valley Meat 131, Fabulous Five 193, Claire’s Crew 142, R.C. Welding 151, Big Country Grapple 270 and Smith Lumber 64.  Shoot well.
