OAKES, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Post 36 Tornadoes were unable to keep up the LaMoure Post 19 falling by a score of 11-4 on Tuesday June 13th. This is their second straight loss.

The game started out well for the Tornadoes as they were able to pop out to a 1-0 lead after 1 inning of work. In the top of the inning Brogan Roney would pitch a soldid 1-2-3 inning; while in the bottom half, James Throener was able to walk and steal a base before being driven in by a Bryley Haberman single.

LaMoure was able to fight back in the second though. They would score Landon Piehl and Garret Hebl after loading up the bases. The Tornadoes would also load the bases after Hebl, LaMoure’s starting pitcher, issued 3 straight walks. However the Tornadoes would do nothing with it as Hebl would get the last two outs.

The middle innings were filled with solid pitching and defense before the 5th inning. LaMoure would sense Roney starting to run out of steam and they would pounce for 4 runs on 3 hits to take a 6-1 lead. The Tornadoes would get 1 back off of a Haberman double to make it 6-2.

LaMoure would get another run in the 6th off of a couple hits off of new pitcher Haberman. Oakes would however show some fight in the bottom half of the inning scoring 2 runs on a hit. They would however strand two on base. LaMoure would lead 7-4.

The scoring would continue for LaMoure in the 7th when they would put 4 across the plate and then end the ballgame on an Oakes 1-2-3 inning. They would win 11-4.

The winning pitcher would be Garret Hebl who went 7.0 IP with 4H, 4R, 4ER, 6BBs, and 2Ks. The losing pitcher would be Brogan Roney who went 5.0 IP with 4H, 6R, 6ER, 7BBs, and 1K. The only other pitcher was Bryley Haberman who went 2.0 IP with 5H, 5R, 5ER, 3BBs, and 3Ks.

Hitting leaders for LaMoure were Landon Piehl (3/4, RBI) and Corban Potts (3/5, 3 RBIs). Hitting Leaders for Oakes were Bryley Haberman (2/3, 2 RBIs) and Blayson Dolney (1/4, RBI).

The Bank North Player of the Game was Bryley Haberman for Oakes and Garret Hebl for LaMoure.

The Tornadoes next play Edgley on Tuesday June 20th at 7:00 in Edgley. Pregame will begin at 6:45 on KDDR 1220 AM/100.3/95.9FM.
