VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Jamestown BlueJay softball player Katie Falk was chosen North Dakota Softball Senior Athlete of the Year upon completion of the 2023 season.

Falk led the Jays at the plate, batting .432, scoring 51 runs and driving in 43.  She pitched 110 innings, nearly half the total innings pitched for the Jays this season.

Behind Falk, Jamestown finished 27-11 overall, but with 12 straight conference wins to end the regular season en route to a 16-2 league finish.  They eventually finished sixth that the state tournament.

“Katie has put in a lot of time to be the player that she is, on the field, off the field and off season. She has earned the respect of the coaches by the way she plays and how she approaches the game and her opponents,” said BlueJay head softball coach Mike Soulis.

Soulis continued, “What sets Katie aside from others is her maturity, she is a very caring and thoughtful young lady who has a bright future ahead of her. Blue Jay softball is better because of her and her senior teammates this season.”

Falk has committed to play softball at the University of Mary.
