CASS COUNTY, N.D. (CCSO) – Early Sunday, June 4th, shortly before 2 a.m., a Cass County Deputy attempted to stop a motor vehicle in rural Horace, after the speeding vehicle came into the deputy’s lane of travel. The vehicle fled north into Fargo, at which time the deputy terminated the pursuit; however, continued to follow the vehicle at a safe distance.

The vehicle eventually traveled into West Fargo, at which time the West Fargo Police Department pursued the vehicle for a short time, until the vehicle drove back into Fargo, and the pursuit was terminated. The vehicle eventually left Fargo and drove south towards Horace. A deputy was able to successfully deploy stop sticks on County Road 14 and shortly after, the vehicle came to a stop and the driver was arrested without further incident. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Jason Jay Remmick of Walcott, North Dakota was transported to the Cass County Jail.

During intoxication testing at the jail, Remmick intentionally slammed a deputy’s hand in a drawer, and was subsequently charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer, in addition to several driving offenses.

Remmick is facing three felony charges and two misdemeanor charges stemming from this incident according to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office.
