BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 2023 State track and field meet was held May 25th-27th at the Community Bowl in Bismarck. The Carrington girls team finished tied for fourth place with Bowman County and the Carrington boys finished in fourth place as well. Junior Logan Weninger took home first place in the boys 400 meter dash by diving over the finish line and winning by 3 hundredths of a second over Hillsboro/Central Valley’s Henry Nelson. Weninger’s diving first place finish was the only state championship for Carrington during the state meet. Below are the results for the Cardinals:

Junior Madison Johnson: 800 meter run – 3rd, 1600 meter run – 3rd
Sophomore Kenadie Pazdernik: 3200 meter run – 4th
4×400 relay: 4th place, Mercedes Lura, Isabel Wendel, Edyn Hoornaert, Madison Johnson
4×800 relay: 2nd place, Mercedes Lura, Kenadie Pazdernik, Edyn Hoornaert, Madison Johnson
Pole Vault: Sophomore Mercedes Lura – 4th, Senior Haley Wolsky – tied for 5th, Senior Allison Jarrett – tied for 9th, Sophomore Jazmyn Ybarra – tied for 13th
Javelin: Junior Kacie Rexin – 17th
BOYS:
Junior Logan Weninger: 200 meter dash – 3rd, 400 meter dash – state champ, 300 meter hurdles – 2nd
4×200 relay: 9th place, Ty Johnston, Ryder Bickett, Jaxon Schaefer, McKade Zink
4×400 relay: 4th place, Jaxon Schaefer, McKade Zink, Ryder Bickett, Logan Weninger
Pole Vault: Senior Kael Kovar 5th, Senior Trace Hoggarth 6th
Javelin: Sophomore Ryder Bickett – 12th
