VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)  Three Viking track and field competitors will travel to the NAIA National Championships, starting tomorrow in Marion, IN.

Senior Taylor Sargent, from Carlyle, Saskatchewan, will compete in the womens 100-meter hurdles.  Sargent qualified for nationals with a 14.68 during the season.

Sophomore Kendra Odegard, from Lisbon, ND, could bring home a Viking national title in womens javelin.  Her best throw of the season, 45.96 meters, is third in the nation.  The top eight finishers will receive All-American honors.

Freshman Jaiden Peraza, from Kindred, ND, is ranked ninth in the nation in the high jump at 2.05 meters, and also has a chance at All-American honors.

Womens javelin will be Wednesday night, the wonens 100-meter dash prelims are set for Thursday afternoon, and the mens high jump takes place late Thursday afternoon.
