Donald Taylor, age 82, of Valley City, ND, died Monday, May 22nd at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 25th at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Donald Clark Taylor, the son of Stephen and Della (Clark) Taylor, was born September 4, 1940 in Fargo, ND. He and his family moved to Jamestown, ND in 1946. Donald grew up in Jamestown and attended Washington Elementary and graduated Jamestown High School in 1959. Donald married the love of his life, Elaine Darlene Siedschlag (Seegee) on September 19th, 1965. They made their home in Valley City. Donald worked for the Chevy garage, filling stations, and did highway construction work before starting his career with Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 2002. He was a laborer on the railroad and worked hard all his life and was always willing to help others. Donald enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1940 sedan and coupe. He also enjoyed family genealogy, history, old cars, music, being outside and working out in the garage.
Donald is survived by his children, Dedriene (Brad) Mills Jamestown, and Marcia Taylor and Son David (Jody) all Valley City; a Granddaughter Amber Mills; a grandson Jon Rambow and granddaughter Kirstin Elliott; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeanette (Rod) Schluter, Thomas (Lahna) Taylor and Anita ( Richard) Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife Elaine, father Stephen and Mother Della.
