JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Another night at Trapper Field ended with two victories in the West Region as the Blue Jay softball team swept Watford City on Tuesday.
GAME ONE: JAMESTOWN 25, WATFORD CITY 7 (FIVE INNINGS)
Jamestown scored 15 runs in the opening frame, jumping on the Wolves from the start in a game one victory. Makenna Nold led the Jays at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs. Jada Walter also went 3-for-4, driving in four runs. Katie Falk got the start, striking out three in two innings. Leah Trumbauer pitched the final three innings, giving up two earned runs while striking out two. Jamestown had 18 walks and 14 hits in the opener.
GAME TWO: JAMESTOWN 27, WATFORD CITY 0 (FIVE INNINGS)
Nold and Avery Graves combined to pitch a no-hitter in game two as Jamestown used a 23-run second inning offensively to cap a dominant doubleheader sweep. Nold struck out all six batters she faced over two innings, and Graves added four strikeouts. At the plate, Katie Falk went 4-for-4 with seven RBIs and four runs scored. Both Nold and Falk homered in game two. Ella Falk drove in four runs, finishing 3-for-5. Jamestown had 17 hits and 11 walks in game two.
Jamestown (21-7, 14-2) has now won 15 consecutive games. The Blue Jays host West Fargo in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday starting at 4:30 PM.
