THOMPSON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals traveled to Thompson on Friday afternoon for two non-region games, they fell to Park River Area Aggies in their first game, 10-6. In their second game of the day, they took on the Thompson Tommies, and they drop to them 10-2. Carrington is now 10-4 overall, PR Area is now 7-5 after their loss to Bismarck Shiloh, 17-1 in six inning. The defending State B Champs Thompson are now 16-2 overall.
In the first game against Park River Area, Carrington had a big top of the third inning, scoring five runs and taking the lead 6-3. But the Aggies scored one run in each of the third, fourth and fifth inning to tie the game at six. In the bottom of the sixth, they scored four to put the game away. Ethan Roller took the loss, working a third of an inning in the sixth. Kael Kovar started and worked five innings, giving up six runs, five earned. Tate Wolsky relieved Roller in the bottom of the sixth. Everett Fedje was the winning pitcher, relieving starting pitcher Logan Wieler in the top of the fifth.
In the second game of the day for the Cardinals, the Thompson Tommies scored five runs in the first, two in the second and three in the third and defeat Carrington 10-2. The Cardinals were held to just two hits. The Tommies had 13 hits, three each from Thomas Schumacher and Shawn O’Hearn. Brayden Wolfgram was the winning pitcher, he retired the first nine Cardinals batters he faced. Drew Overby came in and worked four innings. Hudson Schmitz suffers the loss, working three innings, Corbin Clifton worked three innings as well.
Next up for Carrington will be on Tuesday, May 16th in Carrington against Nelson County/Midkota for two Region 3 games, KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have both games starting at 430pm.
