SIOUX CITY, Iowa (jimmiepride.com)– The Jimmie baseball team had ten players receive postseason honors as the Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its all-conference and Gold Glove teams on Wednesday.

Jordan Singleton was voted to the first team as a designated hitter. Singleton batted .392 with a team-high 39 RBI and 51 hits. He hit seven home runs, eight doubles, and a pair of triples, while leading the team with an on-base percentage of .481.

The Jimmies had four selections to the second team–Kendall Yackley (shortstop), Hayden Brown (outfield/relief pitcher), and Luke Zimmer (pitcher).

Yackley was one of four Jamestown players with 51 hits, and batted .345 with seven home runs and 37 RBI. His 13 stolen bases tied for second-most on the team, and he was one of two players to start all 46 games for UJ.

Hayden Brown was chosen as an outfielder and relief pitcher. At the plate, Brown hit .364 with a team-leading 10 home runs and 34 RBI, third-most on the team. His 12 doubles tied for most on the club and he recorded an on-base percentage of .450 and slugging percentage of .705. As a reliever, Brown appeared in 16 games with a record of 2-3 and six saves. In 23 1/3 innings pitched, Brown had an earned run average of 1.93 and struck out 35 batters.

Zimmer was 8-2 on the mound in 15 appearances (11 starts), with a 3.84 earned run average in 70 1/3 innnings. He struck out 65 batters and led Jamestown hurlers in nearly every statistical category. Zimmer was one of three freshmen to be named to either the first or second team.

Five Jimmies earned honorable mention recognition–Triston Madison (catcher), Xander Orejudos (second base), Troy Berg (third base), Chase Burke (outfield), and Eric Kessler (relief pitcher).

Madison hit .331 with four home runs and 27 RBI, while tying for the team lead in hits with 51. Orejudos batted .325 with 51 hits, 12 doubles, four home runs, and 33 RBI to go along with 10 stolen bases.

Berg batted .273 with two homers and 12 RBI, while Burke hit .268 with four homers and 20 RBI. Burke stole 13 bases and hit a team-high four triples.

Kessler led the Jimmies with 17 appearances in relief, with a record of 1-0 and two saves in 16 innings pitched. He struck out 22 and recorded an earned run average of 3.38.

Orejudos was also named to the GPAC Gold Glove team for his play at second base. Orejudos had a fielding percentage of .973 and made only five errors in 187 chances.
