JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Despite the threat of rain on Tuesday, the spring sports season raged on for Blue Jay softball, soccer, golf, as well as track and field.
SOFTBALL SWEEPS LEGACY
The Blue Jays extended their win streak to 10 games on Tuesday night in Bismarck with a doubleheader sweep of Legacy. Katie Falk and Makenna Nold each went 4-for-4 with three RBIs in game one as Jamestown defeated Legacy 13-0 in five innings. Falk tossed a shutout in the circle, striking out four and allowing five hits. In game two, the Jays only needed five innings again, this time winning 12-1 in five. Rylee Joseph drove in two runs with a 4-for-4 performance at the plate, and Torrie Mack had four RBIs and Addison Graves hit a home run. Nold dominated in the circle, going all five innings and striking out eight.
Jamestown (17-7, 10-2) hosts Williston on Thursday at Trapper Field.
GOLF PLACES 5TH AT DICKINSON INVITE
The Blue Jay golf team shot a 334 team total at the Heart River Golf Course on Tuesday, good for a fifth-place overall finish in Dickinson. Easton Romsdal and Andrew Walz each shot an 81, finishing just outside the top 10. Jamestown heads to the Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck for another WDA invite on Friday.

GIRL’S SOCCER FALLS TO BISMARCK HIGH
Jamestown’s three-match winning streak came to an end in a 2-1 loss in the home finale. The Demons remain near the top of the table with the victory, improving to 7-1-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the WDA. Jamestown, now with 11 points, is currently fourth in the WDA standings.
The Jays (4-2-2, 3-2-1) head to Dickinson Thursday for a non-counter matchup.

GIRL’S TRACK TAKES FIRST IN FCCU INVITE
The Blue Jay girls took first place while the boys finished tied for second in a triangular with Wahpeton and Kindred at Hansen Stadium Tuesday. Jamestown had nine individuals take first place, led by Yolanda Nabwe who took first in the 100-meter dash, the 100-meter hurdles, and the 4×100 relay with Bernadette Belzer, Julia Skari, and Allysah Larson. Larson took first in the 200-meter dash and finished behind Nabwe in the 100-meter.
