STEELE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Junior Grady Shipman hit a walk-off 2-run homer over the right field wall to win the game for the Carrington Cardinals in five innings over Kidder County, 10-0, winning by 10-run rule. It was Shipman’s first hit of the game, he was walked twice before. Carrington improves to 7-1 in Region 3 and 10-2 overall, Kidder County falls to 7-6 overall and 5-3 in Region 3. With the win, Carrington secured at least a two seed in the upcoming Region 3 tourney in New Rockford, running May 22nd-24th, all the tourney games will be broadcast on Thunder Country 98.3 and newsdakota.com.
Josh Bickett picked up the victory on the mound, Isaiah Oster suffers the loss. The Cardinals had nine hits total, KC four. Kael Kovar, Hudson Schmitz and Corbin Clifton all had two hits for the Cardinals, Kovar knocked in three runs.
