CASS COUNTY, N.D. (CCSO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) arrested 29-year-old Nikolus Schnellbach after leading deputies on a pursuit that started near Horace, ND.

On Monday, May 8th around 2:40 a.m., a Cass County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle, driven by Schnellbach, for exceeding the posted speed limit; Schnellbach immediately fled from the traffic stop attempt. The pursuit crossed into Clay County for a brief period; however, Schnellbach crossed back into North Dakota and eventually stopped and surrendered to law enforcement in the St. Benedict area around 3:10 a.m. During the pursuit, deputies were unsuccessful at deploying stop sticks while attempting to disable the fleeing vehicle.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident and no property damage was sustained. Schnellbach was transported to the Cass County Jail and booked in on multiple charges.

Schnellbach faces a number of charges including; Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle (Felony), Driving Under Suspension
Warrant(s): DUI – Cass County, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Cass County, Hunting Violation – Cass County, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle (Felony) – Clay County, and North Dakota Probation Revocation.
