LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) In another pitchers duel, Junior Grady Shipman struck out 13 Loboes batters and completes a one-hit shutout over Lamoure/Litchville/Marion and Carrington wins 1-0 Monday evening at Townsend Field. Jacob Nitschke for LLM pitched a great game as well, working six innings, one earned run, three strikeouts and one walk. The Carrington Cardinals got their one and only run in the bottom the third inning after Jake Otto scored all the way from first after a botched pickoff attempt. The last time these two teams met, LLM won 3-0 also in a pitchers duel. Carrington is now 6-1 in R3 and 8-2 overall, LLM drops to 5-1 in the region and overall.

Senior Tate Mart had the only hit for the Loboes, a single in the top of the third. Carrington had five hits in the game. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Carrington, but the field was to wet there after almost three in a half inches of rain fell over the weekend into Monday morning, so the game was moved to Lamoure and was considered a home game for the Cardinals.

Next up for Carrington will be Tuesday in Steele against Kidder County for another Region 3 game. KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting at 430pm.
