WATFORD CITY, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School baseball team kept pace with Legacy at the top of the West Region standings on Friday evening in a doubleheader sweep against Watford City.
GAME ONE: JAMESTOWN 8, WATFORD CITY 3
Five runs over the final two innings offensively helped the Blue Jay baseball team to a game one victory over the Wolves. Jamestown and Watford City were tied at three after the first four innings of play as both teams scored runs off of defensive errors. Carson Orr got the start for Jamestown and earned the win, going five innings, striking out four and allowing two earned runs. In relief, Jackson Walters pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one.
Mason Lunzman and Tyson Jorissen each drove in two runs during the game one victory. Max Fronk and Jorissen both collected two hits, leading the Jays. Reagan Sortland, Jacob Webster, and Orr each had RBIs as well.
GAME TWO: JAMESTOWN 15, WATFORD CITY 0 (Five innings)
Game two was all Jamestown from start to finish as Thomas Newman tossed a shut out, striking out five and giving up two hits. Walters was incredible at the plate for the Jays, going 4-for-4 with five runs driven in and a home run. Fronk and Payton Hochhalter had multi hit games as well for Jamestown. Fronk drove in four runs in the second game and Jorissen had two RBIs.
