VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Park Board voted to reverse an earlier decision to remove the option of playing tennis in the City Park shared use courts. On May 4th, the Park board voted unanimously to keep the courts a shared use facility and build new pickleball courts next summer on the northside of the city.

Valley Park Board Director Tyler Jacobson said it was a good compromise for pickleball and tennis players.

Erick Kringlie, president of the Valley City Tennis Association said this decision is a win for the community.

On February 1st, the Valley City Park Board voted 4-1 to remove tennis courts from City Park. On May 4th, the Park Board voted unanimously to keep the City Park courts a shared use facility for tennis and pickleball players.

Meanwhile, construction work on the new $1 million tennis court complex continues in Valley City.
