FORBES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A man from Jamestown was seriously injured in a crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Dickey County.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Dennis Gates was traveling eastbound on Highway 11, 10 miles northwest of Forbes, when his pickup had a mechanical failure, causing him to enter the south ditch.

The patrol says Gates was not wearing a seat belt and hit his head against the inside of the truck. Gates was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital in Aberdeen.

The crash remains under investigation.
