LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Senior Anthony Hanson threw a complete game, two-hit shutout to help the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion defeat the Carrington Cardinals Monday night 3-0 in Class B Region 3 High School Baseball action. Carrington loses their first game of the year and are now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the region, LLM improves to 3-0 overall and the region.

The Loboes scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and then added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. The game was a pitchers duel for the first five innings. Hanson threw a total of 107 pitches in seven innings of work, no runs, two hits, 11 strikeouts, one walk and one hit batter. Sophomore Josh Bickett pitched well for Carrington, working five innings, 98 pitches, one earned run, four strikeouts and six walks. Kael Kover came in and worked two-thirds of an inning, giving up four walks, two runs, one earned. Owen Hagel came in to get the last out of the bottom of the sixth.

At the plate, Connor Johnson was 2-for-3 with two singles and Tate Mart had a single and scored twice for LLM. For the Cardinals, Hudson Schmitz hit a double in the top of the first inning and Max Whitman hit a single in the top of the fifth.

Next up for Carrington will be Tuesday in New Rockford against South Border for another Region 3 game. The game was originally scheduled in Carrington, but the field conditions won’t allow it quite yet. KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game broadcast, starting at 3pm.
