JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jay softball team handed Minot its first loss of the year on Tuesday night at Trapper Field as Jamestown split its doubleheader with the Majettes.

GAME ONE: MINOT 12, JAMESTOWN 7

11 runs in the first three innings helped Minot improve to 19-0 and 11-0 in the WDA. Jamestown committed seven errors defensively in game one, leading to five runs for the Majettes. Makenna Nold went 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, driving in four. Jada Walter and Torrie Mack also had three hits in the opener. Katie Falk was handed the loss in the circle, going all seven innings with 12 runs surrendered, seven earned, and three strikeouts.

GAME TWO: JAMESTOWN 14, MINOT 11

The Blue Jay’s bats started to warm up at the tail end of game one, and they stayed hot in game two to hand Minot its first loss of the season. Jamestown scored 12 runs in the first two innings with all runs coming off of starter Tayler Falcon. Six different Blue Jays recorded at least two hits in game two, led by Walter who went 4-for-5. Walter also drove in two runs, as did Mack and Leah Trumbauer. Ella Falk led Jamestown in game two with three runs driven in. Nold got the win, tossing a complete game and striking out 10. Seven of the 11 Minot runs were earned.
