VERMILLION, S.D. (jimmiepride.com)– The Jimmie men’s golf team is in fifth place out of 11 teams after the first 36 holes of the GPAC Championship, being played at The Bluffs GC in Vermillion, S.D.

UJ is 26 shots over par (303-299–602), 15 shots in back of Midland (Neb.) Doane (Neb.) leads the team race at 5-over 581, followed by Morningside (Iowa) at 7-over 583 and Northwestern (Iowa) at 8-over 584.

Jackson Worner is tied for seventh at 1-over 145 (71-74) and Benjamin Schaefer is tied for 16th at 5-over 149 (75-74). Gehrig Geiss (79-75) is tied for 37th at 10-over 154, Max Noffsinger 41st at 11-over 155 (78-77), and Logan Douglas 45th at 14-over 158 (82-76).

Blake Andersen of Doane is the leader at 4-under 140 (69-71).

“The guys played well today,” said Jimmie head coach Zach Hale. “Just had too many double bogies that hurt us, however, I’m proud of how they battled back from those mishaps. We are looking forward to a great final round.”

Tuesday’s final 18 holes will begin at 9:00 a.m.
