New Rockford, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-Grady Shipman went 3-4 at the plate including the Cardinals first homerun of the season. Shipman drilled the solo shot with one out in the top of the first inning and also added a pair of singles and finished with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Cards plated 3 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 15-0 victory in 5 innings. Hudson Schmitz also went 3-4 with 3 doubles and an RBI. Owen Hagel went 2-2 with 3 RBI, 2 runs, and a sacrifice fly. Jack Erickson and Max Whitman had 2 hits each with Erickson scoring 2 runs and Whitman added 1 run and 1 RBI. Shipman also picked up the pitching win going 4 innings allowing just 1 hit and struck out 10 Black Sox batters. Shipman did not allow any walks or hit batters in a very good starting performance. Josh Bickett pitched the final inning striking out 2 batters and allowed 1 hit.

Sheyenne-New Rockford had 2 hits in the game, Alex Weisenburger and Brody Weisenburger bvoth reached with leadoff singles in the second and fifth innings. The Black Sox are now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in Region 3 and the Cardinals improved to 2-0 and 1-0 in the region. Carrington will travel to Velva for it’s next game on Monday.
