VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The flood outlook has improved greatly for areas along the Sheyenne River Valley this spring.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baldhill Dam Resource manager Scott Tichy said much of the snowpack in the upper basin is gone.

He anticipates a manageable run-off with a maximum outflow from Baldhill dam at 2,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) later this month.

Tichy said the projected pool level for Lake Ashtabula this spring is on a good trajectory so far, this spring.

He said the next week or two will give us the full picture about this spring melt and run-off.
