BISMARCK, ND (AG Office) – Attorney General (AG) Drew Wrigley announces that, as the result of a May, 2022 multi-state consumer protection settlement with Intuit Turbo Tax involving customers who were tricked into paying for tax preparation services that should have been provided to them without cost, his office is now preparing to issue refund checks to 9,700 North Dakota consumers who will each receive about $30 for total refunds in the amount of $287,762.

Wrigley noted that his office is working with a third party settlement administrator in sending out the large number of refunds. “I am delighted to be sending these refund checks and I want North Dakota consumers who are eligible for the refunds to be informed and aware that the e-mail notifications and the letters and checks are legitimate and are not a part of any scam,” said Wrigley.

Wrigley noted that the refund letters and checks have already been printed and that eligible recipients and e-mail alerts to eligible consumers will be sent out between April 17 and April 29, 2023, and the actual checks will be mailed between April 24 and May 10, 2023.
