BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Medina/Pingree/Buchanan Thunder took on the Ranchers of Powers Lake/Burke Central in the first consolation game on Friday afternoon at the 2023 State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament. Senior Josh Moser had a great game, scoring 34 points and pulling down seven boards but if wasn’t enough as the Ranchers held on for a two-point victory, 64-62. MPB drops to 21-6 overall, PLBC improves to 21-5 overall.
MPB took their first lead of the ballgame with :43 seconds left in the third quarter, 44-43. The rest of the game had eight lead changes and one tie at 50. The Ranchers scored 20 points off of 11 total turnovers from the Thunder. Junior Rylan Wick had 17 points and 11 rebounds for MPB. PLBC Ranchers were led by Mr. Basketball finalist, Senior Tyson Enget, dropping in 30 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and five steals. Gracin Schroeder added 13 points for the Ranchers.
Next up for MPB will be on Saturday back at the Bismarck Events Center, they will play at 1pm for the seventh place game against Warwick, Thunder Country 98.3 and newsdakota.com will broadcast the game starting about 1250pm pregame.
