Donna Mae Schaeffer Schelske loving wife, mother and grandmother, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota died on March 14, 2023.

Donna was born on September 16, 1933 in Ashley, ND to Eddie and Ruth Schaeffer.  They moved to Medina where Donna graduated.  Donna then attended Valley City State College where she received her degree in education.  Donna taught schools in Courtenay, Wishek and Mandan.

Donna married her high school sweetheart Vernon Schelske on June 3, 1956.  Donna taught farm school for Valley Spring School No. 1 for two years after marriage.  Donna was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Medina.  Donna and Vernon moved into Medina in 1995.  Donna loved to scrapbook.  She taught herself to use the computer and anyone who got a card from Donna knew it was handmade and created with love.  Donna played piano every day.  She gardened, baked and shared her love of cats with her granddaughter Taya.

Donna and Vernon became residents in Eventide Jamestown due to health reasons.

Donna is survived by her son Michael (Teresa); two grandchildren, Taya and Dirk (Ashley); three great-grandchildren, Kyler, Henleigh and Jacob; brother Jerry (Sylvia) and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, parents Eddy and Ruth, brother Gaylen, sister Geneva and her son Ted.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.  Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 22 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.  Interment will take place in the spring at Medina Cemetery.
