JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The first day of the 2023 Class B Region 3 Boys Basketball tournament was held on Monday at the Jamestown Civic Center with four quarterfinal games, here are the results:

Medina/Pingree/Buchanan 58  Carrington 41

The District 6 champs defeat the number four seed from District 5 in convincing fashion and will now move into the semifinal Tuesday night. Senior Josh Moser led all scorers with 29, including three 3-pointers. Carrington was led by Hudson Schmitz with 10.

Linton/Hazelton/Moffit/Braddock 51  Lamoure/Litchville/Marion 50, OT

44-year Head Coach Dan Carr with the L-HMB Lions won his 800th career coaching victory as the Lions beat the Loboes of LLM in overtime and will play MPB in the first semifinal Tuesday night at 6pm. The game had eight lead changes and two ties. Grant Bosch had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions. Max Musland had 19 points for the Loboes.

Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 69  Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter 35

The District 5 champs roll past the four seed from District 6 by 34 points in the third game of the day. The EKM Rebels had three players in double figures, leading the way was Jacob Nitschke`17 points and 13 rebounds. Trenton Erbele had 10 points and 12 rebounds for NGS.

RV Ellendale 62  South Border 40

The Ellendale Cardinals hit nine treys, including four from Riley Thorpe as they defeat the number two seed from D6, the Mustangs of SB. Thorpe had 17 points and Anton Geller had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Ellendale. SB was led by Levi Buchholz with 18.

TUESDAYS SCHEDULE:

6pm – MPB vs. LHMB  (semifinal)

20 minutes after – EKM vs. Ellendale (semifinal)
