VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After 46 years of public service, Kerry Johnson is hanging up his vest for the last time with the Barnes County Highway Department.
He served as the superintendent for 25 years, Johnson said one of his most notable accomplishments was working to build a new shop after the old one burned back in February of 2002.
Johnson had a couple of funny or strange stories to share with us.
He talked about a couple of big projects he and his department worked on to get completed.
Johnson said he’ll miss all the people who have worked hard for him and the department, but he won’t miss the task of clearing snow.
Kerry Johnson’s last day will be Wednesday, March 8th.
Jamie Smith will become the next Superintendent of the Barnes County Highway Department starting Thursday, March 9th.
