BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A late 14-2 run by the Jamestown High School girl’s basketball team wasn’t enough on Saturday in a 66-59 loss to Bismarck High in a state qualifier game.

Jamestown and Bismarck played even basketball throughout the first half as the Jays trailed 31-25 at the break. In the second half, the Demons grew their lead to 18 points with just over six minutes remaining. After a timeout, the Blue Jays kicked up the intensity on both ends, going on a 14-2 run to bring the game back within six points.

The late push proved too late for Jamestown though as the Demons hit free throws down the stretch to put the game on ice and end Jamestown’s season. The Blue Jays wrap up the 2022-23 season with a 12-12 overall record.

Bre Oettle had a team-high 16 points, going 3-for-4 from three. Ella Falk added 13 points and five assists while Teagan Bosche had 10 points. Jamestown shot 47% from the field and 48% from deep, but a minus 14 turnover differential was the ultimate blow.

The Blue Jays will graduate eight seniors from its roster in May. Ella Falk, Katie Falk, Rylee Joseph, Bre Oettle, Haylie Hakanson, Teagan Bosche, Jada Walter, and Peyton Waliser will all graduate from the Blue Jays.
