BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School girl’s basketball team is headed to a loser-out game in the West Region Tournament after falling to Bismarck Legacy, 82-47, in the WDA quarterfinals on Thursday.
Jamestown couldn’t get rolling on offense from the start and the Sabers took advantage. Jamestown was outscored 57-22 in the first half of play as three players entered the half in double figures for Legacy. The Blue Jays shot just 29% from the floor in the first half compared to 58% for the Sabers.
It was more of the same in the second half as Legacy held Jamestown to just five points in the opening nine minutes of the second half. The Jays were led by Haylie Hakanson, who scored 13 points and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Katie Falk also chipped in 11 points. Adison Sagaser of Legacy led all scorers with 18 points.
Jamestown, 11-11 overall, is headed for a loser-out game Friday afternoon against Dickinson. Tip time is set for 4:30 PM from Exhibit Hall at the Bismarck Event Center.
