JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for southeast and south central North Dakota through mid-day Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Bismarck says Heavy snow and blowing snow are expected across much of North Dakota
starting early this afternoon, and continuing into Wednesday.

Snow rates could be up to 1 inch per hour across parts of the south-central and James River Valley.

Lesser snow amounts and impacts are expected across the northern part of the state.

Heavy snow of 6 to 9 inches is expected across south-central and southeastern North Dakota including the James River Valley. Along with the heavy snow, strong winds in excess of 45 mph will create blowing snow with reduced visibility.
