VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner basketball seasons came to an end in the play-in round of the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) Tournament Saturday.
Valley City was beaten by West Fargo Horace 63-51 in girls play Saturday afternoon. The Hi-Liners fell to 6-16 on the season, and were the ninth seeds in the EDC tournament. Horace, the eighth seed, will go on to face Fargo Davies in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
Despite a breakout game from Aiden Jacobson, Valley City fell 78-60 to Fargo Shanley in the play-in round of the boys tournament. Jacobson had 24 points to lead the Hi-Liners in scoring.
Valley City ends their season 2-20 as the 12th seed in the tournament. Shanley, the fifth seed, will travel to fourth-seed Devils Lake Tuesday.
