JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The sixth-seeded Jamestown High School boy’s basketball team advanced to the West Region Tournament on Saturday afternoon in a 102-54 win over Watford City at the Jamestown Civic Center.
All three seniors hit double figures once again, but it was Noah Meissner who led the charge for Jamestown with 23 points. The Blue Jays wasted little time taking control in the play-in game, leading by 40 points at the half, 63-23.
Jamestown increased its lead to sixty points during the second half on Saturday in an all-around team performance. Payton Hochhalter (15), Mason Lunzman (14), Dalton Lamp (13), Caydann Cox (12), and Ryan Larson (10) all joined Meissner by scoring double digits in the victory.
Jamestown advances to the WDA Tournament, which begins Thursday in Bismarck at the Events Center. The Blue Jay boys face Mandan at approximately 8:15 PM on Thursday while the girls take on Legacy at 3:45 PM.
