DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The final day of the 2023 Class B Region 4 Girls Basketball tournament was held Thursday night at the Devils Lake Sports Center with the third place game and championship, here are the results:

New Rockford/Sheyenne 44  Four Winds/Minnewaukan 35 (3rd place)

The Rockets trailed 16-7 at the end of the first quarter after some hot shooting by the Indians of Four Winds/Minnewaukan, but the Rockets defense kicked in in the second quarter, causing some costly Indians turnovers and they would take the lead 24-23 at half. NRS controlled most of the second half and they take home third place at the super region four tourney. Junior Kelsie Belquist led the way with 18, Freshman Ava Peterson added 14 and Senior Madi Myhre had 10. FWM was led by Seventh grader Suri Gourd with 12, including two treys in the first half. The Rockets end their season at 17-7 overall, FWM ends their season at 12-11 overall.
