JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – It was all Jimmies from start to finish on Thursday night at Newman Arena as the #19 University of Jamestown women’s basketball team dominated the College of Saint Mary, 92-51.

With the win, Jamestown locks up a top-3 seed in the GPAC postseason tournament, which begins on Wednesday, February 22nd.

The Jimmie defense helped kickstart the offense on Thursday night as Jamestown held CSM to just seven points in the opening quarter of play. Hannah DeMars was dominant early, scoring 10 points in the first half of play. UJ led the Flames 52-21 at the end of the first half.

It was more dominance from Jamestown in the second half as Kate Cordes led the Jimmies with 13 points, nine in the final two quarters of play. Hannah Hagel had a career-high 12 points and all 18 players who dressed took the floor in the victory.

CSM was held to 37% shooting from the field and 19% from deep. Jamestown shot 49% from the floor as a team and 36% from three. Jamestown was plus 14 in turnovers and the bench outscored CSM 51-7.

The Jimmies improve to 21-6 on the year and 15-5 in the GPAC. Jamestown hosts #4 Dordt on Saturday for senior day at 2:00 PM.
