JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown High School business education teacher has been charged with a felony, 8 misdemeanors, and a criminal infraction following a search of her home by the Stutsman County Narcotics Task Force.
Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen has charged 45-year-old Amy Tarno of Jamestown with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, methadone, hydrocodone, LSD, and drug paraphernalia.
The complaint says that during the search of Tarno’s home in northeast Jamestown, officers found approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine, 17 grams of marijuana, several THC edibles, methadone, hydrocodone, diazepam, and clonazepam pills, and approximately 4 dosage units of LSD. Officers also found drug paraphernalia.
The complaint says that Tarno admitted to having meth and marijuana in her basement and that she and her friends would use the drugs. She denied selling any drugs.
She also told a deputy that she kept coffee filters that contained residue from making meth that came from the farm where she lived with her boyfriend who manufactured meth 13 years ago. He has since died.
Tarno has been placed on administrative leave by Jamestown Public School.
