VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Both Hi-Liner teams challenged good Red River squads Tuesday night, but the Roughriders took both ends of the doubleheader.

The Hi-Liner boys were beaten 85-65 by a Red River team that has been in the top five of Class A teams in North Dakota this year.  Talon Larson continued to show improvement in the second half of the season, leading the Hi-Liners with 14 points.

The Red River duo of Reis Rowekamp and Zac Kraft were too much for Valley City, combining for 28 and 24 points, respectively.

Carly Goven’s 23 points were not enough for the Hi-Liners in girls play, as they were topped by Red River 59-43.  Red River has been ranked #1 at times during the season, and is tied for first place in the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC).  Brooke Eggermont added 13 points for the Hi-Liners.

Divison I-commit Jocelyn Schiller poured in 33 points to lead Red River.

Both Hi-Liner teams face West Fargo Horace Friday, the girls at Horace, the boys at home.
