BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School boy’s basketball team picked up its most convincing win of the year as the Jays trounced #5 Legacy, 94-68.
A sharp shooting first half was key for Jamestown as the Jays jumped out to a 53-42 advantage at the end of the opening half. The attack on offense was extremely balanced as all seven Jamestown players who saw action in the first half scored at least six points, led by Thomas Newman who had 10. The Jays made 11 threes in the first 18 minutes of play.
It was more offensive fireworks in the second half as Dalton Lamp and Ryan Larson led the show in the final 18 minutes. Lamp and Larson combined for 22 points in the second half. Five players finished in double figures for Jamestown, led by Newman with 19. Larson had 18, Lamp added 17, Mason Lunzman chipped in 13, and James Horgan had 11.
The Blue Jays made 17 threes in the victory, improving to 9-9 overall and 8-9 in the WDA. Jamestown heads to Watford City and Williston this weekend before hosting #3 Mandan on Tuesday, February 21st at Jerry Meyer Arena.
