BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School girl’s basketball fell in another close West Region game on Tuesday night. #5 Legacy defeated Jamestown 63-60.
In another tight game down the stretch, the Blue Jays couldn’t hang on to a late lead as turnovers proved to be the difference in the loss at. Jamestown trailed 36-28 at the break behind 12 points from Ella Falk. The Jays picked up the intensity in the second half, tying the game at 45 with 12 minutes remaining. Both defenses were locked in as Jamestown then led 54-53 at the four minute mark.
A 7-0 run by the Sabers in the next three minutes proved to be the dagger as Jamestown couldn’t even the score late. A last-second shot attempt was stripped away before the Blue Jays hit midcourt as Legacy hung on to beat the Jays for the second time in five days.
Falk led Jamestown with 17 points and Rylee Joseph had 12, all coming in the second half. Bre Oettle had nine points Teagan Bosche added eight for Jamestown. With the loss, the Jays have now fallen in six consecutive games, with four losses coming by one possession. Jamestown (8-10, 7-10) travels to Watford City and Williston this weekend.
