JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown baseball spring season kicks off in less than two weeks in Missouri as the Jimmies look to continue its hot start from the fall into late February.

Jamestown is 5-1 after the fall season, winning the final four games of the fall calendar year. Tom Hager, who enters his 24th season as head coach, talked about the tough schedule start to the spring season as well as a matchup with a perennial NAIA power.

After the opening weekend at Central Methodist, Jamestown heads to Tucson for eight games over nine days. UJ opens up conference play on March 18th at Concordia (NE).

The Jimmies return a bulk of starters from a year ago, including a group of seniors who have been tasked with leading this next young and upcoming group of Jimmies.

As always, a big part of any baseball season is how the pitching staff comes together. Coach Hager and the Jimmies have experience on the mound and have added a new but familiar face back to the roster.

With the spring opener set for February 25th, the Jimmies still have improvements to make before they are off and running in the 2023 season.
