Ione Florence Staub was born March 12, 1934 at home in Getchell Township, Barnes County to Ernest and Mary (Henricks) Staub. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ione began her education in a one room school house in Getchell Township until the 8 th grade; she continued her education in Valley City, ND.

On November 15, 1953, Ione was united in marriage with Leland Mosher. Together they had two children, Cecil and Gloria. They later divorced.

In December of 1974, Ione and Arthur Odegaard were married. They were married for 35 years until Art’s death in 2009.
Ione worked various jobs including Tower View Café in Tower City, ND and at Washington Elementary School in Valley City as a custodian until her retirement.

Ione passed away on February 10, 2023 at the age of 88 at SMP Health – St Raphael.

She is survived by her son, Cecil (Penny) Mosher; daughter, Gloria Burkett; grandsons, Hudson Burkett and Eric (Trisha) Mosher; a granddaughter, Nicole (Aaron) Leininger; great-grandchildren, Kalli Leininger, Kody Leininger and Blake Mosher; also surviving is a nephew and 3 nieces.

Ione was preceded in death by her husband Art Odegaard; her parents; one brother, Ronald Staub and two sisters, Doris Staub and Lila (George) Raveling.

Memorial service will be Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel in Valley City at 11 am. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery, Dazey, ND at a later date.
