VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  After averaging over 20 points per game on the weekend and hitting a game-winner at the horn in LaCrosse, WI, Ashlyn Diemert was rewarded by the North Star Athletic Association.

Diemert won the NSAA womens basketball Player of the Week honor for the past week.  Diemert had a career day on the weekend, and her heroics Saturday kept the Vikings two games up for the final first-round home game in the conference tournament with three to play.

At Viterbo Saturday, Diemert hit a turn-around fade away jump shot as time expired to deliver a Viking 79-78 win over the V-Hawks, a shot that completed a weekend sweep for the Vikings.  Her 18 points in the win the previous night at Waldorf were upstaged by a career-high 23 in the win over Viterbo Saturday.

Diemert, a sophomore from West Fargo, average 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds on the weekend.
