JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Tuesday night at Wilson arena it was the final home game of the season for the Jamestown boys hockey team vs the Mandan Braves.

Before the drop of the puck, all parents and players were recognized and the pregame ended with the 13 Seniors getting the spotlight.

The home crowd went home happy as Jamestown responded with a 3-2 victory over the Braves.

Senior Gavin Gerhardt notched his 13th and 14 goals of the season and Senior Easton Romsdahl netted his fifth of the season.

Senior Goalie Andrew Walz turned in another strong performance with 34 saves.

The Jays outshot Mandan 42-36 and improve to 9-5-1-2 in the West and 10-7-2 overall.

Mandan slips to 12-7 overall and 11-6-1-1 in the West Region.

Jamestown will hit the road for a non-conference game at Fargo North on Thursday night and wrap up the regular season with a West Region matinee at Bismarck on Saturday.

The West Region Tournament starts a week from Thursday in Minot.

The Blue Jay girls played at Mandan on Tuesday night and lost 4-3. The Belzer sisters took care of the scoring as Senior Bernadette scored twice and little sister, Stella, a 7th grader, scored on a breakaway.

Jamestown falls to 4-14 on the season. Next up is a road game at Dickinson on Thursday, Feb 9th.
